Gwen sets One Cebu launch on Feb. 10

-
Unfazed by statements from the opposition that it would come out with a formidable slate, Governor Gwendolyn Garcia yesterday said she would launch her One Cebu political party on February 10.

"I envy them (the opposition) because they have all the time to think about politics and the coming election and to try out possible combinations. I really have no time for that right now because I am busy delivering on my promises to build more bridges, roads, etc.," Garcia said.

The governor said her commitment to deliver her administration's 12-point agenda consumed much of her time that she has no time to deal with political maneuverings and political ambitions.

She said their new party is based on the conviction that Cebu should be protected from the moves of the opposition to subdivide it through the so-called Sugbuak bills

On the other hand, former governor Pablo "Pabling" Garcia said those who have intentions to run against her daughter should start going around the province and identify their political leaders.

But he said the strong slate set to be formed by the opposition should not be feared of, adding that it is up to the people whom to choose in the May 14 elections.
