Power outage set today 'til Sunday

Power interruptions will hit several portions of Metro Cebu today until Sunday due to the Visayan Electric Company's scheduled upgrading and maintenance activities.
From 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. today, portions of barangay Basak, Mambaling, Cebu City, specifically along Col. Cabreros, Arnold Janssen and Alumnos streets, Alumnos Sea Side, including the dyLA transmitter, Arnold Janssen Parish Church, and sitios Isla Alegre, Cyco, Panaghiusa and Ipil will be affected by the pole replacement and installation of a new transformer in the area. Portions of barangay Basak, Pardo particularly New Carlock Subdivision and Cana Subdivision will also experience brownouts.
On Friday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., VECO will facilitate the relocation of lines and poles traversing a private property in Talisay City that will cause power interruptions in barangay Linao, Talisay City, including portions of Lipata, Minglanilla, Borromeo Subdivision, Upper Lipata, sitio Sandayong and Aranas Subdivision.
On the same day, portions of barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, particularly along Kabajar, S. Alaura and Modesta Streets, including Cavan Compound and Vanex Trading will have no electricity from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m.
On Saturday, from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., VECO will facilitate the construction and installation of a new transformer in barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City that will cause power interruptions in the area particularly along Gen. A. Lim, Jose Abad Santos, Justice Villamor and Tandang Sora streets, including Tancor Realty Development Corp., Cebu Shine Land, Inc. and JEDCOR, Inc.
From 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the same day, the power firm will also replace a pole and transformer in barangay Cansojong, Talisay City that will affect portions of the barangay including Capt. P. Deiparine Road, Uldog Street, including Sta. Theresa III Subdivision and Lemon Ville.
On Sunday, from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m., VECO will replace pole in Pook, Talisay City that will affect portions of the barangay specifically along P. Canizares and C.H. Bascon Streets, including Larida Ville, Reuben Ville, Florida County, Sea Breeze Ville, Beams Export Corp., Rafols Resorts, sitio Litmon, sitio Maruca, Natures Reflection Int'l. Inc., Vermedes Inc., Biasong Zones 1, 2 & 3, Villa Teresita, and Smart Communication.
Likewise, portion of barangay Mohon, Talisay City, particularly along M. Noel Street, Ranger Road, including Corona Del Mar, Villa Solana, UC Homes, Grand Bel Air, Roseville, Puerto del Sol, Casa Monard, Aqua Cainta Resort, Gasper Stone, Gabriel Yap Poultry, Handmade Furnishings, Inc., Cebu Konstruct Construction & Trading, and sitio Libo will also be affected.
From 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. of the same day, pole and line relocation in Mandaue City will also cause power interruptions in portion of barangay Maguikay, Mandaue City, particularly along P. Ceniza and Albano Streets, portion of M. Echavez Extension, including portion of Sugar Valley and AC Carangue Printers.
On the same period, primary line rerouting will affect portion of barangay Bacayan, Cebu City, including Entire Villa Leyson, Entire DECA Homes and sitio Sugarlandia. - Wenna A. Berondo
