Farmer stabs wife dead

A farmer stabbed his wife to death in front of their five children in their house in sitio Ok-Ok, barangay Pangdan, Naga town, last Friday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as Celsa Repiso Aligana, 33, while her alleged assailant was identified her husband Erman, 40.

SPO1 Bienvinido delos Santos of Naga Police Station yesterday said prior to the incident, while they were having their lunch, Erman told his wife that he was nervous as he felt someone wanted to kill him.

But his wife did not mind what he said and ignored him. Later around 4 p.m. that same day he asked permission from his wife to go to the town's church to attend a Mass.

But his wife turned him down since they only had P10 which was not enough for the fare. This allegedly angered Erman who then argued with his wife.

During the course of the argument the Erman lost his cool, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed his wife several times in different parts of her body, killing her instantly.

Delos Santos confirmed that Erman had a record for nervous breakdowns.

While he was detained in the police stockade the night after he was arrested, police said he kept banging his head against the concrete wall, his fellow detainees had to restrain him from killing himself.

Delos Santos said that they are waiting the relatives of the victim to come to their office to file formal complaints against the suspect.
