An alleged drug pusher was arrested in a buy-bust operation in barangay Liburon, Carcar town and yielded at least 22 plastic packets of suspected shabu last Sunday morning.
Richard Umbay, 35, a resident of sitio Tawog, barangay Valladolid, was arrested by operatives of the Carcar Police Station led by SPO1 Meliton Agadier and SPO1 Erasmo Rosel who earlier bought a pack of shabu from the suspect through a poseur-buyer.
After his apprehension, Umbay then yielded the 22 small packs of suspected shabu, P600 cash believed to be proceeds from his illegal activities, and the P100 bill that the authorities used in buying the illegal drug from him.
Umbay is now under the custody of the Carcar police while the confiscated drugs were brought to the Philippine National Police crime laboratory for examination.
PO3 Reynaldo Fuentes, duty desk officer of Carcar Police Station, told The Freeman that Umbay is a son of a retired policeman, adding that appropriate charges would be filed against the suspect today. - Norvie S. Misa
