A man who was shot and is still recuperating in one of the private hospitals in the city is now under guard after police found out he was wanted for a murder case.
Redwin Tito, 22, and a resident of sitio Villagonzalo 2 in barangay Tejero, was shot by two unidentified men who waylaid him near his house last week, police are eyeing possible motives of drugs or fraternity grudges in the said case.
But before he could be released from the hospital police found out that he is a suspect of a murder case.
The Theft and Robbery Section deputy chief, Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes, acquired a copy of the warrant of arrest against Tito from Regional Trial Court Branch 10 judge Soliver Peras last December 4.
Bastes told The Freeman that Tito was tagged as the one who shot and killed Alfredo Rosales last June 17 along M.J. Cuenco Avenue of the said barangay after a heated argument.
Tito is now closely guarded by two policemen inside the hospital.
Meanwhile, Homicide Section investigators have already identified the possible suspects who shot Tito last week but could not divulge it prior to verification.
Police said they are looking into possibility that the attack is connected to Tito's previous crimes. - Edwin Ian Melecio
