Tomas vows to check plaint vs. Jabonero

Mayor Tomas Osmeña yesterday promised to look into the veracity of a complaint accusing his officer, Dennis Jabonero, of not reporting regularly to the assigned work at the city batching plant in barangay Budlaan.
The complaint was posted on the website of the city government but the mayor said he has yet to read it.
It reads: "We have observed that (Jabonero) rarely report on his job, yet most of the time he is just in his house waiting until the day is over and I bet! he got his DTR perfect attendance almost no late and almost no absent [sic]."
It further alleged that Jabonero "get paid for which is obviously the money of the taxpayers, the common people" but was not in his post to do the job.
Osmeña, in his regular press conference, clarified however that Jabonero has no specific period within which he must report for work, considering that his duty has been to evaluate road asphalting and road repair.
"He has no specific hour. His hours is basically in his own," the mayor said, adding that Jabonero was responsible in the nighttime road asphalting during the preparations for the Asean Summit. - Garry B. Lao
