One of two unidentified men on a motorcycle trailed then shot a 59-year-old businessman in the head right after he alighted from a trisikad on his way home at Panagdait Street in barangay Kasambagan the other night.
The victim, Eliseo Famador Sr., is reportedly in serious condition in a private hospital. The assailant and a companion left the scene after the shooting. There was no empty bullet shell found from the scene however.
Investigator SPO3 Zenaido Pastorfide said that right after Famador disembarked from a trisikad, the motorcycle backrider approached and shot him on the head.
Witnesses told the police that the driver wore a helmet while the gunman had none. The two were seen parking their motorcycle at the corner of F. Cabahug and Panagdait Streets, and later trailed the trisikad that Famador was riding.
Pastorfide said among the possible motives that investigators are now looking into are business rivalry, personal grudge, and love triangle-the third angle of which was considered because Famador was reportedly estranged from his wife for quite sometime already.
"Dili ko makatuong paregla ra kay gisundan gud na siya. Ang among duda, basin og naay kakontra ang iyang mga anak unya gi-implicate lang siya," said Pastorfide.
Famador reportedly owned a condominium unit in Manila and has been into the billiard hall business. The police however said they had to talk to his family yet to have this confirmed. -Edwin Ian Melecio/RAE
