City public school teachers to receive bonus starting today

Cebu City Schools Superintendent Leonilo Oliva said that they are currently working on the release of the year-end bonus and the cash gift of Cebu City's teaching and non-teaching personnel.

Oliva said that their target date of release is today, November 15. However, with what manpower they currently have, there is a possibility of delay.

But, he said that they are on double time to achieve the release of checks today for the year-end bonus and the cash gift.

Meanwhile, the Department of Labor and Employment has also warned companies against the failure to release 13th month pay to workers before December 24.

It said private companies should not dillydally in the release of workers' 13th month pay, or they will face sanctions.

Earlier, Labor Secretary Arturo Brion also made the same pronouncement saying employers from private companies should already have released the 13th month pay before December 24 comes. - Jasmin R. Uy
