Two men were arrested in a hot pursuit operation early morning last Saturday after they allegedly burglarized a house of German in barangay Bugas, Badian town, earlier that day.
Responding policemen of the Moalboal police station led by their officer-in-charge, P/Insp. Gil Limosnero were able to apprehend the suspects, a 17-year-old resident of Bugas, Badian town, and 18-year-old Blefer De Padua, of sitio Boay-ay, barangay Balabagon, Moalboal town.
Both suspects were accused of burglarizing the house of Dirk Werner, a German national presently residing in barangay Bugas, Badian town, around 1 a.m. last Saturday.
The responding policemen recovered from the possession of both suspects a DVD player, two sets of computer casing loaded with parts, two Viewsonic VG 21-inch monitors and assorted computer accessories worth more than P55,000.
SPO2 Albert Grengia, of Moalboal Police Station, yesterday told the Freeman that the responding policemen who were on duty that time were able to respond quickly after they received a telephone call regarding the said alarm.
The house of Werner is near the boundary of Badian and Moalboal and the policemen of both towns often cross boundaries to respond to alarms.
PO1 Jenny Lind Awe, of the Women's Desk of Moalboal police station said it was the German's girlfriend who called them that night about the alarm.
Awe said the girlfriend, whose name they failed to get, was awakened during the burglary and noticed that the said items were already taken.
The police said that the appropriate charges were already filed yesterday against De Padua while the 17-year-old is now under police custody. - Norvie S. Misa
