Cebu City Task Force on Street Children chairperson Margot Osmeña will showcase the asset of the city in the upcoming ASEAN Summit - which is the children.
The city's first lady, at the 5th Annual Summit on Children held at the Grand Convention Center, said, "we will show them what Cebu City is. I want to showcase the children because if there is one asset that the city has - it is them."
She said that during the dinner with the wives of the heads of states, the Cebu City Task Force on Street Children Choir will be in charge of entertaining the guests.
She also urged children to open up, especially on the particular needs that they want to be addressed. "Hopefully, moabot ang panahon nga kamo na sad ang motabang sa ubang mga bata. Hangyo nako if moabot ang panahon nga motabang na mo, please do it and pass it on," Osmeña told the participants of the summit.
Meanwhile, Mayor Tomas Osmeña has also urged the children to focus more on their studies for hard work is not just the key to success.
Osmeña cited the importance of education, which is one of the secrets to success. "Height does not matter. To be dominant, you should always use your head because the important thing is to be smart," he said.
"Whenever you have the chance to learn, then take it. Naa sa inyong kamot ang inyong kaugmaon and the city is here to give you the opportunity to be dominant," he added.
