VECO skeds brownouts on Saturday, Sunday

Power interruptions will hit several parts of Metro Cebu on Saturday and Sunday as part of the upgrading and systems maintenance to be conducted by the Visayan Electric Company.
On Saturday, VECO will relocate and reconstruct its poles and reroute primary lines that are affected by the ongoing sub-way project along S. Osmeña Boulevard, which will cause power interruptions at the pier area from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Areas that will be affected are parts of barangay San Roque, part of Quezon Boulevard (from Pier 1 to Pier 2), and parts of C. Arellano Boulevard. Also to be affected are the regional offices of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Bureau of Plant Industry, Cebu Ports Authority-Pier 1, George and Peter Lines Inc. Bldg., GMC Plaza, Hee Acusar Bldg., International Harvester Inc., Madrigal Cmpd., Philippine Tourism Authority, Seafarer Computer Institute, Socor Shipping Corp., Solon Machine Shop, Tansims Enterprises Corp., Vimcontu Inc., Vimcontu Welfare Center, Vipcor Service Center Corp., Yusen Air and Sea Phils., Inc.
On Sunday, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m,, upgrading of lines from 13.8 kilovolts into 23-kilovolt system and transfer of its load to Calamba feeder 312 will result to power interruptions in parts of P. del Rosario Street, P. del Rosario Extension, J. Urgello Street, Osmeña Boulevard and parts of Leon Kilat Street.
On the same day and time, VECO will also conduct upgrading of lines from 13.8 kilovolts into 23 kilovolts and transfer of load to Carreta feeder 321 that will cause brownouts in parts of P. del Rosario and Leon Kilat streets.
Lastly, from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., isolation from the mentioned affected areas will affect parts of Leon Kilat, Escano, Sanciangko, Pelaez streets, Osmena Boulevard, F. Calderon, Lincoln, Progreso, V. Gullas, Balintawak, Borromeo, Magallanes, Colon and P. Lopez streets, and the Bato-Carbon and Kalubihan-Carbon area.
