Three persons robbed a collector of a cooperative in barangay Lantawan, San Fernando town Thursday morning while a minor was arrested for robbing a 15-year-old girl and her friend in barangay Poblacion Oriental, Consolacion town Wednesday night.
But responding policemen later arrested the suspects - Samuel Aparece, 20, Marionilo Genargue, 46, and Eriberto Yamongco, 23, all residents of sitio Pit-os, Lantawan - along the national highway of barangay Poblacion 3, Carcar.
Initial police investigation revealed that Offara Suares, collector of the Carcar branch of Lamac Multipurpose Cooperative and a resident of sitio Kalubihan, Bolinawan Carcar, was riding a motorcycle-for-hire when, upon reaching the bamboo plantation of sitio Pit-os, the suspects waylaid the motorcycle driven by Wenjel Semilla.
Armed with a gun, two of the three suspects took her bag containing P3,000, her 6610i mobile phone worth P13,000 and the motorcycle.
But about 8:40 p.m. that day, operatives from San Fernando and Carcar police recovered the motorcycle, a yellow Aura Kawasaki with temporary plate number 712-35731, which was abandoned in sitio Imburnal, Can-asuhan, Carcar. However, they failed to recover the collector's bag.
SPO1 Francisco Salubre, desk officer of San Fernando Police Station, told The Freeman that they have already prepared the case against the suspects yesterday afternoon.
In Consolacion town, a minor was arrested following the robbery of a female fourth year high school student and her friend by six persons in barangay Poblacion Oriental Wednesday night.
