Police investigators are now looking into possible love triangle in the killing Wednesday night of a 23-year-old man in front of his girlfriend in Renaissance Valley, sitio San Roque, barangay Bulacao.
The victim was identified as Jurel Cosep, a resident of the place, who was shot several times and was declared dead on arrival at the Cebu City Medical Center.
SPO2 Alex Dacua of the city police Homicide Section told The FREEMAN that they are looking into love triangle angle and possible personal grudges involving the victim.
Cosep was conversing with his 21-year-old girlfriend, Lesile Lataza, along the road when a lone gunman appeared and shot him several times.
Witnesses described the suspect as 5'4 in height, medium built, about 24 to 27 years old but none of them knew his name during police investigation.
Dacua said it was the victim's neighbor, Johnrey Singcot, who rushed him to CCMC after the shooting.
SPO2 Virgilio Bagasala of the Scene of the Crime Operations recovered four empty shells and a deformed slug from an undetermined caliber at the crime scene.
Dacua added that they would still subject Lataza, with whom the victim has a month-long relationship, to another police questioning on the incident. - Edwin Ian Melecio/LPM
