Teachers to get training in biotech, advanced stat

The Bureau of Secondary Education will train third-year teachers on Biotechnology and Advance Statistics which will soon be offered for two grading periods in secondary schools.
Third-year teachers of Science and Technology-oriented secondary schools in Central Visayas will be going to Marikina City for the said training scheduled from September 18 to 20 for biotechnology and September 21 to 23 for advance statistics.
Biotechnology deals with the manipulation of organisms to do practical things and to provide useful products. One aspect of biotechnology is the directed use of organisms for the manufacture of organic products like beer and milk products.
Biotechnology is also employed in the recycling, treatment of waste, and the cleaning up of sites contaminated by industrial activities called bioremediation. -Jasmin R. Uy/MEEV
