The provincial board is set to pass a resolution supporting the stance of the Department of Education to file criminal and administrative charges against those involved in the recent Palarong Pambansa scandal.
Reports of cheating in the recent Palarong Pambansa has marred the credibility of the national games competition hosted by the Department of Education intended to gauge the sports quotient of students.
Coaches allegedly tapped over-aged and more experienced players to ensure their victory in the games.
The investigating committee created by DepEd found reasonable ground to believe that there was cheating during the Palarong Pambansa and that they are preparing to file appropriate criminal and administrative charges against those involved.
The resolution, sponsored by PB member Juan Bolo, states that it is but just and proper that those involved be made to answer for their folly in order to set an example to our students that engaging in cheating in exchange for victory is never wise. - Flor Z. Perolina
