The City Council approved a resolution setting aside P1 million for the purchase of handcuffs, nightsticks, communication equipment, flashlights, raincoats, and uniforms for the Barangay Intelligence Network members assigned at City Hall.
Councilor Augustus "Jun" Pe Jr., the author of the resolution, said the equipment would enhance the capability of BIN members in securing the offices and facilities at the City Hall.
The BIN has over 4,000 members who have undergone a series of training initiated by the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Bureau of the city police office because of their desire to volunteer as peacekeepers in their respective barangays.
