7 PUJ operators accuse NADSU exec of not remitting franchise renewal fees

An official of the Nagkahiusang Drayber sa Sugbo was accused of delaying the remittance of payments worth P40,000 she received for the renewal of LTFRB franchises.

Along with six other operators who are also NADSU members, Herodina Romas who operates a public utility jeepney plying the Country Mall-Consolacion route, claimed to have paid P7,700 to NADSU official Jennifer Alveso as processing fee for the renewal of her jeepney's franchise.

Romas said she gave the money to Alveso last June 4, but the latter allegedly never remitted the payment to the LTFRB, which affected the renewal of the franchise that expired last August 8.

"Wala na lang mi magsalig nila kay sige ra man og pasalig nga gipasu'd na sa LTFRB hangtod nga ako na lang gipa-renew gamit na sab sa laing kuwarta. Ang problema dili pa mi makadagan kay mag-hearing pa man mi sa LTFRB," Romas said.

Meanwhile, Antonio Pogado, the president of NADSU, confirmed that Alveso has no direct hand in the processing of franchise for its members. He admitted that it is true some of the members of the transport group have been complaining about Alveso who reportedly didn't remit the payments.

"Naningkamot gyud mi nga masulbad gyud nang problemaha," Pogado said, who explained that Alveso could have used the money as she is recently burdened with financial problems brought about reportedly by the deteriorating health of her father. - Ramil V. Ayuman
