Authorities yesterday raided two outlets of a business enterprise, one inside a mall at the reclamation area and another at the downtown area, for allegedly selling counterfeit beauty products.
Nobody was arrested in the operation but Chief Inspector Rex Derilo, of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-7, said his men confiscated fake Top Gel beauty products, worth about P20,000.
The policemen, armed with a warrant that Regional Trial Court-branch 11 Judge Ramon Daomillas had issued, raided the two outlets of the De Oro Therapeutic Center and Zafran Herbal Marketing.
Derilo said that representatives of another firm, CS Trading, had filed a complaint against the outlets that they found selling TOP-GEL beauty products also.
Derilo said charges are already set for filing against the owner of the stores for alleged violation of Republic Act 8293, or the Intellectual Property Rights. - Jose P. Sollano
