Philpost regional information officer Josephine Layco said that they have already allowed their postal offices in the province and municipalities to receive domestic express mail service provided that it will correspond to the day of the actual pick-up of the mail vans.
Layco said that the picking up of mails in the provinces is done alternately for them to be able to save on fuel expenses and others.
In the past, Philpost does not allow its provincial offices to receive domestic express mails saying that there could be delays. The said express mail service is only being offered in the cities, in major Philpost offices.
Layco said that they have decided to open up in the provinces the said express mail service in order to better serve mailers and so that they will not have to come to the city for that matter.
"They will only have to ask their nearby post office as to what is the day of the scheduled picking up of mails by our mail vans," Layco noted.
Just recently, Philpost was able to acquire 50 more mail vans, which will be distributed to the regional offices.
Layco also announced that its big postal offices in the city are now offering electronic loads to the public as it recently tied up with Globe Telecom.
