Policeman accused of interfering in arrest

A member of the Mambaling Police station is now in hot water after he was accused of interfering in the arrest conducted by the personnel of Pardo Police Station last Tuesday.
Cebu City Police Office director Supt. Melvin Gayotin said that he would recommend PO3 Ariel Coloscos for administrative investigation by the Internal Affairs Service.
Coloscos reportedly told the Pardo police led by SPO2 Sanrico Julejule who accompanied a certain Atty. Acosta, a lawyer in a concubinage case filed against Albert Sabocohan, that he already arrested the suspect who had already posted bail.
Chief Insp. Alexis Relado of the Pardo police told The Freeman that his men wanted to make sure of Coloscos's claim by checking with the court but discovered that Coloscos had lied to them because no bail has been posted.
The Pardo police have already suspected Coloscos' meddling in the case since last July 29 when they were waiting for the arrival of Sabucohan from Singapore at the Mactan Cebu International Airport.
They allegedly saw Coloscos at the arrival area and even informed the airport police of his presence and their intention to serve the warrant of arrest against Sabucohan.
After an hour of waiting, the police left the airport empty-handed, believing that Sabucohan may have used another exit door instead of the usual door for the arriving passengers.
Last Tuesday, while the Pardo policemen were at the prosecutor's office to file another case, Acosta approached and notified them about the presence of Sabucohan.
When they approached Sabucohan, Coloscos then allegedly approached them and said that Sabucohan had already posted bail since Monday. But when the Pardo police clarified it with the court, they found out that no bail has been posted.
