A policeman assigned to the Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division of Police Regional Office-7 sustained bruises when he was mauled by men who were also able to take away his .45 cal. pistol in Alcantara town Sunday afternoon.
PO1 Vincent Letigio, 31, of Alegria town, was on his motorcycle driving through barangay Polo, Alcantara town, when he saw a multicab driving erratically. He flagged down the driver, identified himself as a policeman and warned him not to drive in that manner since he might cause or get into an accident.
But some bystanders took offense to what he said and mauled him and grabbed his service firearm.
