The 18-year-old, who resides in barangay Basak, is now listed as the second Filipino with a WBC international title. He joins the elite pack of Filipino world beaters whose members include super featherweight Manny Pacquiao.
Pumar is the seventh Filipino to show off the championship belt formerly worn by brothers Juanito and Ernesto Rubillar, Manny Melchor, Rocky Palma, Zarlit Rodrigo, and Arman dela Cruz.
Pumar, a fighter under the Rex "Wakee" Salud Stable in Cebu City, improved his record to 9-0, with six knockouts. - Mitchelle P. Calipayan
