Scolded for not washing clothes, teener kills self

A 17-year-old boy committed suicide by hanging himself to the rafter inside their rented room at Hillside, Nasipit Road in barangay Talamban Sunday afternoon.

The reason, according to homicide police investigation: His parents scolded him for not washing their clothes as earlier told.

Investigators said Ricky Cabual was first seen watching television at around 2 p.m. and, a few hours after, was found hanging from the room's rafter with a yellow rope on his neck.

Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation volunteer John Benedict Hierco tried to resuscitate Ricky but failed.

Investigators found no sign of foul play and the only visible injury found on the Ricky's body was the strangulation mark on his neck. - Edwin Ian Melecio
