Barangay tanod stabbed, shot dead in Dalaguete

A barangay tanod who attended a cockfight was stabbed and shot to death by an unidentified assailant while he was on his way home Saturday evening in barangay Dumalan, Dalaguete town.

The victim was identified as Teresito Arriesgado, a resident of sitio Cangcabalong, barangay Obo, Dalaguete town. He sustained several stab and gunshot wounds in different parts of his body and was killed on the spot.

PO2 Cirilo Glipa and PO1 Adriano Bacatan said the assailant waylaid the victim while he was on his way home. The victim was seen watching cockfighting in the area prior to the incident.

Police are still investigating the incident to identify the assailant. - Gregg M. Rubio
