Joseph Gaviola, alias Bukol, and Junrey Gaviola Ingles, both of Phase 1, Mother Ignacia Village, barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion, were arrested by the joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency led by C/Insp. Fermin Almendarez, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group led by S/Insp. Germano Mallari, and the Consolacion police led by S/Insp. Resty Santos.
Their arrest stemmed from the issuance of an arrest warrant dated June 9 issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Ulric Cañete.
Confiscated from Gaviola were nine small packs and a medium size pack of shabu, illegal drug paraphernalia, P130, a homemade .45 cal pistol and a magazine with four live ammunitions.
Confiscated from Ingles were 52 small packs of shabu, illegal drug paraphernalia and a homemade .357 caliber magnum revolver with six live ammunitions.
The suspects were brought to the CIDG regional office for the filing of appropriate charges against them while the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to the court.
Meanwhile, elements of the Danao City Police Station and the PDEA arrested vendor Mardonia Penas Alvaro, 49, of Highway Looc, during a drug raid on her house yesterday.
The raid was conducted by virtue of search warrant issued by RTC Judge Meinrado Paredes and was witnessed by city councilor Conrado Batoon and Jose Thaddeus Roble Jr., the secretary to the city mayor.
Confiscated from the suspect were four small packs of shabu and P8,500 believed to be proceeds from her illegal drug trade. - Gregg M. Rubio
