Bomb threat spawns chaos in Tuburan Central School
June 16, 2006 | 12:00am
Chaos ensued in the Tuburan Central School yesterday after parents rushed in to get their children out following reports of a bomb threat.
Teachers and pupils had just started their classes at 8:00 in the morning when parents suddenly rushed in to get their children.
PO3 Junard Luyao told The Freeman that when they responded to the alarm at around 8:30 a.m. they saw the chaos the threat had created in the school.
"Looya sa mga bata kay nagdinaganay, gipangguyod sa mga ginikanan," Luyao said.
Luyao said that they conducted a search of the school and found nothing.
CPPO Director Vicente Loot said it all turned out to be a false alarm. He has ordered his men to look for two fish vendors who allegedly announced the bomb threat in the market causing the parents to panic.
While Loot ordered the investigation, Luyao said that school principal Teotimo Dona sent a letter-request to the police station to investigate the guard assigned in the school.
Luyao said that as of yesterday afternoon, they have not found the two fish vendors who reportedly announced the bomb threat.
In an interview over dyLA, Loot also said that they now know how to deal with such a situation if it ever happens again.
"I hope this will serve as a lesson," Loot said.
Loot said if anybody gets a bomb threat the report should first be passed on to the police and not to the public.
