Independence day rites at PRO-7: PNP Chief Lomibao rallies police to unite as a community for peace

Philippine National Police Chief Arturo Lomibao called on all police stations in the country to unite and strengthen the police force like communities for peace and progress.

Lomibao's message was read by PNP deputy regional director for administration, S/Supt. Ronald Roderos, during the 108th Independence Day celebration rites held at the Police Regional Office Headquarters yesterday.

The gallantry and patriotism of the country's forefathers and heroes served as inspiration of Filipinos in keeping this nation alive and free, thus policemen should treasure these values by acts of dedication to serve the people, said Lomibao.

Lomibao told policemen to unite by being patriots and defenders of law and order like the country's heroes. "Let us take their services to heart, let us make sure that their sacrifice was not in vain," he said.

He said the policemen's dedication to freedom and democracy, and determination to uphold peace and order must continue to be the backbone of the country's march to progress.

"In oneness with all the communities and sectors we serve, we must put our hands and our hearts together to do our forebears proud, to raise the flag of freedom, to celebrate our glorious history and our promising future, together," Lomibao's message read in part. - Gregg M. Rubio
