Cebu Provincial Police Office director, S/Supt. Vicente Loot has promised to prosecute and dismiss from service the provincial policemen who were allegedly acting as back-ups of the big time drug pusher arrested in barangay Calamba last Saturday.
Loot said that he will coordinate with the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Branch of the Cebu City Police Office if they can present witnesses.
"Drug coddlers and protectors have no place at CPPO," Loot said.
CIIB chief, Supt. Paul Labra II earlier claimed he already has the name of one of the two policemen who intervened during a police buy-bust operation last Saturday evening.
A shootout happened last Saturday between two men believed to be policemen and Vivencio Baldesamo, the 7th most wanted drug personality in the city's watchlist.
A shootout happened after Baldesamo and the two policemen attacked a police poseur-buyer with a bicycle, then tried to shoot him with a .45 cal. pistol.
Baldesamo's companions fled after they saw him fall after being shot in the knee.
