Man hit by van while taking out the trash

A 21-year-old man who went to take out the garbage was killed after he was hit by a speeding white van at around 3:20 a.m. yesterday in barangay Kinalumsan, Lapu-Lapu City.

The victim was identified as Ramil Canoy of Bayawan, Negros Oriental, but temporarily residing at Bethel Temple Kiddie Development Learning Center in Lapu-Lapu City.

PO3 Dante Iway, duty traffic field investigator, said that the victim was walking along the roadside after having dumped some garbage when a white van, coming from barangay Babag, hit him.

It was last seen speeding away toward the city.

The victim was killed instantly due to extensive injuries in the head and other parts of the body.

The police are now looking for the white van and its driver. - Gregg M. Rubio
