Teacher posts bail for estafa case

A female public school teacher has surrendered to the police after knowing that a warrant of arrest for estafa was issued against her.

Elements of Tabogon police station led by SPO3 Douglas Amores were about to serve the warrant of arrest against Eva Contejo Jubay, 43, of barangay Ilihan, Tabogon town, last Thursday morning, when she arrived at the police station.

The warrant of arrest dated May 5, 2006 was issued by judge Antonio Marigomen of the Regional Trial Court Branch 61 in Bogo town.

Tabogon police chief Insp. Wilfredo Giducos said Jubay went to the station with the required bail bond of P16,000. She was then escorted by the police to post bail in the Bogo RTC.

Giducos said the accused was just a co-maker of someone who borrowed money from a lending firm in Bogo but he did not know the details of the case as they were only tasked to serve the warrant of arrest since the accused is living in their area of jurisdiction. - Gregg M. Rubio
