Man nabbed for allegedly raping his wife's sister, 13

A 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping the 13-year-old sister of his wife in his house at barangay Carmen in Toledo City last Friday.

The suspect, Tomas Lausa, is now detained at the Toledo Police station while medico-legal officer Dr. Hermes Labrador already confirmed in his examination that there was laceration in the victim's genitals.

Tomas' wife is pregnant and let her younger sister stay with them since a month ago to help them of the daily chores.

Senior Inspector Eliakim Awit, of the city police, said the alleged rape took place while the suspect's wife was out to deliver dentures to the house of her customer.

The suspect reportedly examined the teeth of the victim first and then allegedly dragged her down to the floor where he kissed her and forcibly took off her short pants, and underwear.

The girl struggled to resist but Tomas eventually got his wish. According to her, he even threatened to kill her if she reports the incident to the authorities.

But at past 4 p.m. that day, the victim and her mother reported the matter to the police who in turn took her to Labrador for examinations, which subsequently confirmed that a rape took place.

The city policemen, along with Social Welfare personnel, immediately went to the house and arrested Tomas. Charges are now being prepared for filing against him.
