Man accused of raping 16-yr-old stepdaughter

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her stepfather inside their house at barangay Taytay, Badian town yesterday dawn.

It was the victim's brother who went to the police station and reported that 43-year-old Vestre Sario, live-in partner of their mother, allegedly raped his sister at about 12:30am yesterday.

Responding police, led by PO3 Ronaldo Elcana, arrested Sario and took the victim to a hospital in Cebu City for medical examination in preparation for the filing of charges against the suspect.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was roused from sleep due to severe pain on her private parts.

She said Sario was already lying by her side and wearing brief, adding that he threatened to kill her if she squealed.

But shortly after the incident, she told her brother about it, and the latter in turn informed the police. Sario is now in police custody. - Norvie S. Misa
