Two men hurt in shooting incidents

-
Two men were hospitalized and are in critical condition after being shot in separate incidents in Danao City and Bogo town the other night.

The first victim, a 16-year-old high school graduate, and a resident of F. Ralota St., Poblacion, Danao City was shot by four men along Juan Luna Extension, Poblacion, Danao City, at about 10 p.m.

The minor and his friends were sitting at the gutter of the road when the men arrived and shot them. The minor was hit in the left thigh and rushed at the said hospital and was later transferred to a hospital in Cebu City for further medical attention.

All of the suspects were arrested by policemen and identified as Winjie Cortes and William Egia Jr., both of barangay Tuburan Sur, Danao City; Jonel Labador alias "Gamay", of San Isidro Village, Juan Luna Ext. and Niño Jay Perez, of Bonifacio Ext., barangay Poblacion, Danao City.

SPO1 Jose Relampagos said the four claimed to be members of a fraternity of their own making and the crime may have been an initiation for one of their new members.

In Bogo town, a 32-year-old man was shot in the head by a security guard of a pawnshop along P. Rodriguez Street, late Friday night, for still unknown reasons.

Leodegario Velasquez Jr., a resident of Dayhagon, Medellin town, was allegedly shot by Giovanni Cañete.

Velasquez was rushed to the Bogo District Hospital but was transferred to a hospital in Cebu City while Cañete fled right after the incident. --Norvie S. Misa
