Norwegian allegedly rapes minor "guide" in Tabuelan
May 3, 2006 | 12:00am
A Norwegian national residing in barangay Tabunok, Tabuelan town allegedly repeatedly raped a 15-year-old girl, who reportedly served as his guide around the place. The victim, however, did not report the incident immediately to the authorities as the suspect reportedly promised to marry her and extend financial assistance so she could finish her studies.
The victim, a resident of the said place, said she was with the suspect from April 2 until the 27th, but only reported the incident to the police last Saturday night when the Norwegian national, with last known address at La Familia Beach Resort in Tabuelan town, left her without fulfilling his promise.
Initial investigation conducted by responding policemen revealed that the victim and the suspect stayed at room 2 of said resort, and that the suspect allegedly forced the girl to have sex with him at around 9 p.m. of April 2 on the promise of marriage and financial support.
The girl said she was repeatedly raped from April 3 to the 27th. When she woke up at around 3 a.m. of the 28th, the suspect was nowhere to be found. She later learned that the Norwegian national had already checked out of the resort.
PO3 Wilson Abot told The FREEMAN yesterday that the victim and the suspect were acquainted for quite a time already as the girl served as guide to the Norwegian national earlier. Police said a follow-up operation will be conducted for the possible arrest of the suspect. - Norvie S. Misa
