The victim was identified as Richard Abendan, 26, single, a resident of said barangay and a butcher employed at the city abattoir.
Abendan suffered two gunshot wounds in his back and his right shoulder from a gun of unknown caliber.
Police said witnesses told them the assailant could be a public utility jeepney dispatcher.
Investigation disclosed that Abendan challenged a certain Neil Rubi to a fight, as the two reportedly had an unsettled argument long before. At the height of the argument, the suspect, who was reportedly a bed spacer at a boarding house run by Rubi, went out with a gun and shot Abendan.
Emil Bombuhay, the uncle of the victim, who happened to pass by said area, saw the body of his nephew near the gate of Rubi's residence.
The suspect fled from the crime scene immediately. - Nancy Marie Dael
