Two constrasting rape incidents: Pa nabbed for raping daughter; Ma arrests her daughter's rapist

-
Two rape incidents of two girls, one in Argao town and the other in Cebu City, similarly involved their parents but with contrasting upshots: the former had the father as the offender while the latter had the mother as the arresting person of the offender.

In Argao, a 27-year-old father was arrested yesterday in barangay Bolasa of the town for allegedly raping his 13-year-old daughter.

In barangay Sawang-Calero in Cebu City, however, it was the mother who arrested a man she caught molesting her 11-year-old daughter.

A team of the Argao Police, composed of PO2 Jojit Abah, and PO1s Eduardo Semilla and Vivian Tamayo arrested a man after his daughter reported the series of rape and pointed at him as the alleged rapist.

The victim alleged that her father had been sexually abusing her since last January, and the last instance of which was inside their house at around 9 p.m. last April 14.

The victim's father is now detained at the Argao jail while a rape charge against him was already filed at the provincial prosecutor's office.

Meanwhile on Nipaan Street at barangay Sawang-Calero in Cebu City, a mother arrested a man for sexually molesting her sleeping 11-year-old daughter.

The victim said she was awakened to find Jomelito Cuizon inserting his finger into her private parts.

The victim's mother immediately arrested Cuizon and turned him over to the police station where he is now detained while awaiting for the filing of charges against him. - Nancy Marie C. Dael and Emerald Dann Labay, UP MassCom interns
