Moalboal cops nab two drug suspects

Moalboal policemen arrested two suspected drug pushers, one after the other in an hour span, in buy-bust operations at barangay Basdiot of the town, two days ago.

The first suspect arrested was Faustino Abrenica, alias "Tata", 21, single and a resident of barangay Tuble, Moalboal, and the next was Arturo Vaño Uy Jr, alias "Torex", 33, married and a resident of Basdiot.

Moalboal Police chief, Insp. Carmelita Condevillamar, led the policemen in arresting the two suspects while in the act of selling illegal drugs to the poseur buyers.

Abrenica allegedly sold dried marijuana leaves, placed in two matchboxes, to the police poseur buyer at about 11:45 Saturday evening in Basdiot. After the arrest, the police recovered from the suspect the P200 bust money and P583 cash believed to be proceeds of his illegal trade.

An hour after, it was Vaño who fell into the police dragnet when he sold to a poseur buyer a small plastic pack of shabu. The police recovered from his possession the P200 bust money and three more small packs of shabu from his wallet during a body search.

The seized evidences were taken to the police station then to the PNP Crime Laboratory for examination while the suspects were detained at the police stockade.

Town policeman, PO1 Jenny Lind Libato, told The Freeman that charges against the suspects were already filed at the provincial prosecutor's office yesterday.
