2 rape suspects arrested in Toledo

Two men, wanted for rape and listed among the most wanted men in the Toledo City Police station files, were arrested yesterday morning in barangay Das, Toledo City.

The wanted men were Estelito Vectorillo, alias Charlie Vectorillo, and 25-year-old Romeo Alvarez--both neighbors at Highway Bunga in barangay Lutopan, Toledo City.

Elements of the Regional Intelligence and Investigation Division, led by Sr/Insp. Romeo Santander, arrested the two suspects in Alvarez' house on the strength of two arrest warrants issued last January by Judge Cesar Estrera of RTC-branch 27 of Toledo City.

Santander said Vectorillo and Alvarez belong to the top 10 of Toledo Police station's list of most wanted men.

The two have pending cases for alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl at Purok Kimwa, barangay Das, this city, on April 29, 2002.

There were at least five men allegedly involved in the rape but only the two were arrested because the three others could not be located anymore, said Santander.

Vectorillo and Alvarez are now detained at the stockade of the Police Regional Office-7. - Flor Z. Perolina
