Armed with a search warrant signed by Regional Trial Court Branch 13 judge Meinrado Paredes, the men led by Supt. Paul Labra searched the house of Danny Nacua at the said place at about 4 a.m. yesterday.
However Nacua escaped with the aid of his neighbors after sensing the arrival of the raiding team.
The search was witnessed by Pasil barangay tanods Alfredo Mosqueda Sr., and Leopoldo Reyes Sr.
The drugs were first brought to the CIIB office for proper disposition then later turned over to the crime laboratory for examination while appropriate charges are being prepared against Nacua in court.
Labra yesterday said Nacua is a known drug pusher who can dispose of at least 200 grams up to a kilo of shabu a week. He also said he has a lot of drug cases.
About 50 policemen were involved in the operation as they expected the neighborhood to be hostile to policemen since they already conducted an operation at the same place the other day. - Norvie S. Misa, correspondent
