Fire completely destroyed a semi-concrete house owned by a former town councilor in barangay Poblacion East, Moalboal town Sunday evening.
The town's Fire Marshall and investigator SFO3 Roger Lagnason placed the loss to property at around P600,000. Luis Redoble, 74, owned the house. Lagnason said the fire was over in eight minutes but the cause couldn't be determined yet.
A neighbor's house also caught fire but was extinguished quickly before this could spread further. When the fire broke out, Redoble was in another house attending the birthday bash of one of his grandchildren. Only his other grandchildren were left in his house.
However, no one was hurt. Lagnason said the town would soon receive a firecycle from the provincial government. A firecycle is a motorcycle with a fire extinguisher on each side. The firecycle is designed to respond to small fires.
