Gov't employees get P1T compensation

-
The workers of some national government agencies have already received two months differential of the P1,000 additional compensation promised to them by President Gloria Arroyo.

Leticia Llamedo, information officer designate of the Department of Budget and Management-7 said that four of the five government agencies under them were already given their respective Special Allotment Release Order and Notice of Cash Allotment for the additional compensation of P1,000.

Llamedo said only the Department of Education has not received their SARO and NCA for the P1,000 additional compensation due to their large number but she said it will soon be released.

The clientele offices listed under DBM-7 are DepEd, the Department of Public Works and Highways, the Department of Health, the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority and the State Colleges and Universities.

State colleges and universities include Cebu Normal University, Cebu State College of Science and Technology, Oriental Negros State University, Siquijor State University, Visayas State College of Agriculture.

Llamedo said some employees will now see adjustments reflected in their pay slips starting this month.

However Llamedo said the release and effectivity of the additional compensation will depend on the agency concerned, among the agencies still without their differential for January and February is the Philippine National Police.

Arroyo announced last December that government employees will get their share of the economic improvement brought by the implementation of the latest fiscal measures.

An executive order was released for the retroactive payment of the P1,000 on top of the existing P500 additional compensation starting January 1, 2006. - Ferliza C. Contratista
