Two men survive shooting outside bar
March 13, 2006 | 12:00am
A man and his teenaged companion cheated death after two men on a motorcycle fired at outside a disco bar along Cabantan Street in barangay Luz yesterday dawn.
Twenty-one-year-old Marfe Bulatano Ylanan and his 17-year-old male companion, both residents of barangay Guadalupe, had just left the bar to buy cigarettes from a store across the street when the motorcycle-riding men suddenly appeared and shot at them before speeding away.
The 17-year-old got hit in the left arm while Ylanan's shirt was grazed.
Responding policemen, on board Mobile Patrol Car 512, immediately brought the victims to the Cebu City Medical Center.
Investigator PO3 Roger Nedamo said the police have theorized the attack could be a "paregla" or a thrill-seeking act, as they ruled out the possibility of vigilantes.
The victims told Nedamo they have no idea why they were shot. - Flor Z. Perolina
