A Talisay City traffic policeman was shot dead at the Cebu South Coastal Road near sitio Laray, barangay San Roque, Talisay City Thursday night by an unidentified man.
Responding policemen saw SPO2 Teofanes Castro, a resident of BF Homes, barangay Mohon, and assigned at the city's Traffic Division, slumped on the ground after being shot twice in the head.
The victim's wallet, his 9mm service pistol and his Nokia 6230 cellphone were taken. Police also found the sandal of a woman at the crime scene.
Cebu Provincial Police Office director S/Supt. Vicente Loot yesterday said they are looking at three possible motives into the killing.
The first possible motive is a love triangle as Castro's could have been seeing another man's woman. His wife is reportedly abroad.
The second was that Castro could have been just a victim of a robbery while the third angle is work-related as he might made an enemy of someone in his line of duty.
Castro's body was brought to Rolling Hills Funeral Parlor in barangay Banilad, Cebu City, for an autopsy.
