Two persons were electrocuted while another one is in serious condition after the iron bar they were carrying accidentally hit a live wire during the ongoing construction of La Fortuna Building along Borromeo Street.

Duljo-Fatima were declared dead on arrival at the Cebu City Medical Center while Ruben Boyunan, a resident of Dumanjug town, was in serious condition and is now confined at the same hospital.
Based on investigation conducted by PO3 Henry Estoy of the Homicide Section of the Cebu City Police Office, the victims were employed as steel men of Zepeda Reverse Formwork, the sub-contractor of the Asec Development and Construction Corporation that is contracting the La Fortuna Building.
Estoy said the steel bar that the victims were carrying while climbing up to the sixth floor hit a primary line of the Visayan Electric Company.
"Nagtunol-tunol ra man gud to sila sa kabilya, unya pag-abot sa six floor nabawog ang tumoy sa kabilya unya misangko didto sa primary line sa VECO."
Lastimosa, who reportedly did not use a safety belt, fell from the sixth floor and died instantly while Seballos was stuck to the iron bar he was holding and was killed instantly.
Estoy said Boyunan, who fell to the third floor, suffered a second-degree burn in his left arm and his testicles reportedly exploded.
Estoy added that when the iron bar hit VECO's primary line, a loud explosion was heard at the construction site. - Floz Z. Perolina
