AIDS Foundation launches mobile van named Rebecca

-
The Remedios Aids Foundation/Youth Zone has launched its own mobile van facility named Rebecca at the City Hall grounds yesterday.

Rebecca was acquired with support from the United Nations Population Funds to educate, serve and entertain the youth of Cebu City through its health care facilities and entertainment features.

Rebecca is set to educate the youth and people in the community through innovative activities. One is the distribution of information and education campaign materials that stimulate and satisfy the craving of young people for factual and correct information regarding health care services like family planning, birth control and other information materials regarding the matter. Others include film showing of educational and youth-oriented movies and many more.

Rebecca would also facilitate the provision of access to quality health services by offering several direct services right at the doorstep of the target clients. Medical and laboratory outreach activities are the major services. Others include counseling, feeding and health education.

Catering to the youth audience, Rebecca sees to it that she entertains people in the community who come to her through "jamming", karaoke singing and live band.

Partners and other interested parties can also hire Rebecca's services as long as the van will be taken cared of. - Jasmin R. Uy
