The Cebu City government will be allocating close to P2 million for the construction of a concrete road leading to a waterfalls in the mountain barangay of Taptap, according to Mayor Tomas Osmeña.
Osmeña said the amount will be spent to develop the road leading to the place to make the area accessible to Cebu City residents and visitors who might better enjoy the waters there.
Osmeña yesterday morning flew onboard a helicopter over barangays Pamutan, Toong and Taptap and was delighted to have viewed from above the three levels of the waterfalls.
The mayor said that the city plans to develop the waterfalls within this year.
"I'm planning on the development of a natural swimming pool there as the site is not difficult to reach," Osmeña told reporters.
The mayor is also embarking on a program to develop parks and playgrounds such as the eight-hectare Kawit Island. - Garry B. Lao
