PB Ouano eyes giving computers, motorbikes to municipal councils
February 4, 2006 | 12:00am
Philippine Councilors League president Alfred Francis Ouano proposed a budget of P1 million from his Legislative Assistance Fund to purchase motorcycles and computers for the improvement of services of the members of municipal councils.
Ouano, an ex-officio member of the Provincial Board, proposed that P700,000 should go to the purchase of motorcycles and P300,000 for the purchase of computers up for distribution to the different municipal councils in the Cebu province.
This move is in response to the requests filed by some municipal councilors asking Ouano to provide them with motorcycles for mobility and computers necessary in preparing resolutions and ordinances.
These councilors said that although there are already municipal councils equipped with computers, there are still some that cannot afford to buy one.
