Sack could lead to girl's killer

Police recovered a sack that had strands of hair from the crime scene yesterday during their follow up investigation on the death of a nine-year old girl in sitio Tiwasan, barangay Catarman, Liloan town last Tuesday morning.

Liloan police investigator SPO1 Wilfredo Caturza told the Freeman that when they went back to the crime scene yesterday to gather more information, they found the sack, which could possibly help them identify the perpetrator.

Caturza however said that they would submit all the evidence gathered to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for examination to determine if the hair found is from the head or the pubic area and from who could have come from.

Caturza added that according to the residents that they saw a person in the area where the body of the girl was found, but it would be hard for them to identify who it was since the person's face was covered.

There are three suspects, but the police do not have any solid evidence yet to pin any of them. They are hoping that the hair strands found on the sack can lead them to the criminal.

The police are now encouraging the residents to cooperate in their investigation to help solve the crime. The appeal for cooperation comes with a warning that if the resident would not help, a similar crime could happen and their children could be the next victims.

Caturza said that they are still waiting for the autopsy report from the NBI. The police investigator also said that the father of the victim has not fled contrary to reports that he left their place after he was tagged as one of the suspects.
