Ouano wants 8 city consultants retained

Mandaue City Mayor Thadeo Ouano asked the city council to renew the services of the city's eight consultants for various city programs.
Ouano, in his letter to the council, said the consultants provide technical input for the formulation and implementation of various city programs and projects.
The consultants whose services is due for renewal are Celia Luzon, consultant for livelihood and development; Roberto Juanico Jr., consultant for anti-illegal drugs eradication; Mark Marquita, consultant on housing and urban development and Alfonso Albaño, consultant on legislative matters.
Four lawyers were also tapped by the city government as consultants. They are Paterno Acabodillo, consultant on real estate matters; Benjamin Tomimbang, consultant on senior citizen affairs; Isidro Abinales, consultant to the city mayor on administrative and executive matters and Manuel Monzon, consultant on labor management and affairs.
Luzon, Albaño and Acabodillo are former officials of the city. Luzon was then the head of the city nutrition department, Albaño is a former city councilor while Acabodillo was former head of the Registry of Deeds.
So far, only Monzon's services were renewed by the council as of Wednesday.
Monzon, is former president of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Cebu Province. His task is to ensure a harmonious labor-management situation in the city, including mediating disputes between companies in the city and their laborers. He also gives Ouano advise on labor matters.
The consultants will be receiving at least P10,000 per month as a consultancy fee. - Mitchelle P. Calipayan
