Talisay receives ambulance from PCSO

Talisay City is one of the recipients of ambulance units provided by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

Mayor Socrates Fernandez personally went to the PCSO office in Quezon City the other day to formally accept the donation from the said government agency that controls legalized gambling operations in the country.

According to Fernandez, Talisay City was picked as one of 55 recipients because of the turnover of votes in favor of President Arroyo, Vice President de Castro and seven senators who are now serving their terms, said to be one of 55 places with the highest number of votes cast.

Other beneficiaries in Cebu are the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Toledo.

The city has two units of ambulance, but one is not serviceable.

Fernandez said the additional ambulance unit will be of enormous help to the Talisaynons in emergency situations. - Liv G. Campo
